Retained subretinal perfluorocarbon in multimodal image
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction: Retained subretinal perfluoro-n-octane droplets occur in nearly 1% of the procedures. When cystoid cavities are registered, differential diagnosis including this condition is needed.
Clinical case: A 77-year-old male presented three small bubbles under papillomacular bundle after vitrectomy due to a retina redetachment, evidenced by multimodal image.
Conclusions: Multimodal image can help diagnose condition. There several signs that support diagnosis. If visual acuity threatened, removing mandatory, accepting risks.

Changes in retinal sensitivity from retained subretinal perfluorocarbon liquid.
PURPOSE To study the effect of retained subretinal perfluorocarbon liquid (PFCL) on retinal function. METHODS Scanning laser ophthalmoscope microperimetry was performed on four eyes with retained subretinal PFCL after vitreoretinal surgery for complicated retinal detachments with and without proliferative vitreoretinopathy. RESULTS Scotomas to the highest intensity stimulus were noted in th...

Dear Editor, I read with interest the article titled " Subretinal Perfluorocarbon Liquid for Dissection of Proliferative Vitreoretinopathy " by Dalma-Weiszhausz et al. 1 Perfluorocarbon liquids (PFCLs) effectively stabilize the retina and facilitate efficient repair of complex retinal detachments due to proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR). PFCLs however, have some drawbacks 2 which may be avo...
متن کاملSubretinal Perfluorocarbon Liquid for Dissection of Proliferative Vitreoretinopathy
Proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) is a frequent condition following complex retinal detachments or trauma, and subretinal PVR is a common cause of retinal redetachment. Subretinal PVR removal is challenging and may require creating multiple or large retinotomies, making manipulation of the retina difficult and sometimes hazardous. We propose a novel surgical technique that may facilitate su...
متن کاملDisplacement of retained subfoveal perfluorocarbon liquid after vitreoretinal surgery.
OBJECTIVE To report a novel surgical procedure to displace retained subfoveal perfluorocarbon liquid (PFCL). METHODS Retrospective cases series. Three patients had retained subfoveal droplets after PFCL was used in vitrectomy repair of retinal detachment. In each case, submacular PFCL was displaced to the subretinal space in the inferior periphery. A retinal detachment at the posterior pole a...
متن کاملSubretinal Perfluorocarbon Liquid (PFCL) after Vitrectomy; A Case Report And Review of Literature
Purpose: To report a case of retained subretinal perfluorocarbon liquid (PFCL) after vitrectomy and to discuss the diagnosis and management of subretinal PFCL based on literature review. Case Report: A 57-year-old female patient underwent 3-port 23-gauge vitrectomy for advanced proliferative diabetic retinopathy and combined tractional and rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. During the surgery, ...
